Single-sided MINI cylinder ‘Vertical Orange Stripe’ Ankara print fabric lampshade

‘Vertical Orange Stripe’ is a bespoke lampshade designed using my architectural understanding of illumination and how patterned textiles behave when light passes directly through them. Handmade using a striped Ankara, to create a vibrant glow that adds instant character to any interior.

Fabric Story This shade features the Ankara printed fabric, chosen for its energetic orange, brown and white striped pattern. The pattern is expressive and modern, and because it sits on the exterior, it remains visually striking whether the lamp is on or off. When illuminated, the colours are bolder and the geometry gains a gentle depth. This is the first in a range of mini cylinders which are 3/4 size of the lampshades in my cylinder range and use fabrics with smaller repeats better suited to their smaller size.

Lighting Behaviour ‘Vertical Orange Stripe’ responds beautifully to warm bulbs, enhancing the richness of the outer colours and creating a cosy, inviting ambience ideal for living and dining rooms, hallways and bedrooms. It's also great for lighting up the corner of a room where there is restricted space. Its balanced behaviour makes it suitable for both ambient and task lighting.

Handmade Craft Each lampshade is handmade in London using traditional making techniques. The exterior pattern is aligned with precision, the interior lining is finished cleanly, and the structure is built to maintain its form over time. As part of a limited run, every shade carries the individuality of the maker’s hand.

Practical Details Available in multiple sizes and suitable for both pendant and table‑lamp fittings.
