“SECOND” Double-sided ‘Hidden Diamonds’ tapered cone lampshade with Ankara graphic print fabric
‘Hidden Diamonds’ is a bespoke lampshade designed using my architectural understanding of illumination and how patterned textiles behave when placed inside a shade. Unlike traditional lampshades, ‘Hidden Diamonds’ reveals its design only when lit, creating a bold, glowing horizontal stripe effect. A modern addition to any room.
Fabric Story This shade features an Ankara waxed cotton printed cotton on the interior. When the lamp is off, the exterior remains calm and understated in a clean, plain, coloured fabric. When illuminated, the interior print shows through the lining, to the outer fabric.
Lighting Behaviour Paired with its Khaki outer face, ‘Hidden Diamonds’ responds to warm bulbs, pulling the interior diamond print through the shade and creating a subtle, graphic glow ideal for living and dining rooms, hallways, and evening lighting. This shade has been created as a cone shape but it should be noted it can also be made with straight sides in the form of a cylinder shade.
Handmade Craft Each lampshade is handmade in London using traditional making techniques. The interior pattern is aligned with precision, the lining is finished cleanly, and the structure is built to maintain its form over time. As part of a limited run, every shade carries the individuality of the maker’s hand.
Practical Details Available in multiple sizes and suitable for both pendant and table‑lamp fittings.
