Double-sided 'Pride 2024' graphic print lampshade

‘Double Sided Pride 24’ is a bespoke lampshade designed using my architectural understanding of illumination and how patterned and plain textiles behave when light passes directly through them. Handmade and designed for the Pride celebrations in 2024 it results in a vibrant, glow that adds instant character to any interior.

Fabric Story This shade features Cotton printed fabric, chosen for its representation of the colours in the Progress Pride flag. The pattern is striped with a modern, aesthetic but in this lampshades it sits on the interior. When the lamp is off, the exterior remains plain and understated in a plain white fabric. When illuminated, the interior stripes glow through the lining, creating a rainbow of colour.

Lighting Behaviour Paired with its White outer face, ‘Double Sided Pride 24’ responds dramatically to warm bulbs, pulling the interior stripes through the shade and creating full transference of the inner pattern to the outside ideal for living rooms, bedrooms hallways and evening lighting. The crisp, contemporary character also works beautifully in workspaces or reading corners. It's a versatile choice for both ambient and decorative lighting.

Handmade Craft Each lampshade is handmade in London using traditional making techniques. The interior pattern is aligned with precision, the lining is finished cleanly, and the structure is built to maintain its form over time. As part of a limited run, every shade carries the individuality of the maker’s hand.
