Double-sided Kaffe Fassett ‘Tribal Lights’ lampshade

'Tribal Lights' is a bespoke lampshade designed using my architectural understanding of illumination and the use of artificial lighting. It’s handmade using a fabric that comes alive when lit, creating depth, warmth, and a sculptural atmosphere.

Fabric Story This shade features a Kaffe Fassett print, chosen for its rhythmic geometry and rich colour layering of orange on yellow.

Lighting Behaviour Paired with the bright pink interior and placed under warm light, 'Tribal Lights' produces a rich ambience, enhancing the yellow and orange within the pattern. When illuminated, the deeper tones soften while the lighter accents glow, giving the shade a dynamic, expressive presence. Cooler bulbs sharpen the geometric forms, giving the shade a crisp, vibrant character. Its balanced response to both lighting temperatures makes it versatile across living rooms, dining rooms, and bedrooms.

Handmade Craft Each lampshade is handmade in London using traditional making techniques. The exterior pattern is aligned with precision, the interior lining is finished cleanly, and the structure is built to maintain its form over time. As part of a limited run, every piece carries the individuality of the maker’s hand.

Practical Details Available in multiple sizes and suitable for both pendant and table‑lamp fittings.
