Double-side ‘Côte d’Azur’ lampshade

‘Cote d'Azur’ is a bespoke lampshade designed using my architectural understanding of illumination and how patterned textiles behave when placed inside a shade. Unlike traditional lampshades, ‘Cote d'Azur’  reveals its design only when lit, creating a bold, glowing horizontal stripe effect. A modern addition to any room.

Fabric Story This shade features a leopard print cotton on the interior. When the lamp is off, the exterior remains calm and understated in a clean, plain, coloured fabric. When illuminated, the interior leopard print shows through the lining, to the outer fabric.

Lighting Behaviour Paired with its Turquoise outer face, ‘Cote d'Azur’ responds dramatically to warm bulbs, pulling the interior leopard print through the shade and creating a punchy, graphic glow ideal for living and dining rooms, hallways, and evening lighting. This shade has been created as a conical shape but it should be noted many of my other designs can also be made as cones.

Handmade Craft Each lampshade is handmade in London using traditional making techniques. The interior pattern is aligned with precision, the lining is finished cleanly, and the structure is built to maintain its form over time. As part of a limited run, every shade carries the individuality of the maker’s hand.

Practical Details Available in multiple sizes and suitable for both pendant and table‑lamp fittings.

Fitted with a duplex lamp holder (top fixed) suitable for UK/EU lamp holders, with US adaptation available on request.
