Single-sided cylinder ‘Star Man’ Ankara print fabric lampshade

‘Star Man’ is a bespoke lampshade designed using my architectural understanding of illumination and how patterned textiles behave when light passes directly through them. Handmade using a bold, graphic fabric, ‘Star Man’ creates a vibrant, glow that adds instant character to any interior.

Fabric Story This shade features an Ankara waxed cotton printed fabric, chosen for its bold pattern geometry in yellow, royal blue and black. The pattern is expressive and modern, and because it sits on the exterior, it remains visually striking whether the lamp is on or off. When illuminated, the colours yellow areas of the pattern become more vibrant whilst the blue darkens slightly and the geometry gains a gentle depth, giving the shade a dynamic yet refined presence.

Lighting Behaviour Ziggy responds beautifully to warm bulbs, enhancing the richness of the outer colours and creating a cosy, inviting ambience ideal for living and dining rooms. It also great for lighting up a corner where space is a premium and also providing lighting over stairwells. Pair it with a cool hue bulb  to make it suitable for both task lighting.

Handmade Craft Each lampshade is handmade in London using traditional making techniques. The exterior pattern is aligned with precision, the interior lining is finished cleanly, and the structure is built to maintain its form over time. As part of a limited run, every shade carries the individuality of the maker’s hand.

Practical Details Available in multiple sizes and suitable for both pendant and table‑lamp fittings.
